What Can Veneers Address?

Veneers are wafer-thin shells that are attached to the front surface of teeth to correct a vast array of cosmetic concerns by totally concealing them. You can request veneers from our Littleton dental experts to address:

  • Minor tooth cracks or chips
  • Small gaps between teeth
  • Slightly crooked teeth
  • Discolored or intrinsically stained teeth
  • Teeth that are worn down or too small
  • Misshapen teeth

Hear Our Dentist Explain Veneers

In this short video, Dr. Krendl explains the differences between veneers and dental crowns, how veneers work, and why you may want to consider requesting this wildly popular cosmetic dentistry treatment.

Top Reasons Why Our Patients Choose Dental Veneers

If you want to conceal a chip, stain, or uneven tooth, there are many cosmetic dentistry treatments available to meet your needs. However, veneers are known for their incredible versatility, quality, and strength, making them a great option for most patients. Patients who choose veneers can:

Conceal Virtually Any Cosmetic Issue

Whether you have a single tooth that is causing you to hide your smile or a number of teeth that cause embarrassment, veneers can transform the appearance of your smile and boost your self-esteem. Veneers can be used to conceal gaps, chips, cracks, minor misalignment, and discolored teeth that do not respond to whitening treatments.

Choose a State-of-the-Art Material

To provide the most efficient, aesthetic, and conservative treatment, Dr. Krendl offers veneers made from IPS e.max®. Compared to standard porcelain, this advanced material is stronger, thinner, and more natural-looking. Because of its beautiful quality and outstanding performance in clinical studies, IPS e.max has been used in over 170 million dental restorations.

Enjoy Long-Lasting Results

IPS e.max veneers are available in both lithium disilicate and ultra-strong zirconium oxide. Each material offers strength, natural appearance, and longevity that is far superior compared to porcelain veneers found at other Littleton dental offices. With proper care and regular visits to our dentist, you can enjoy your new veneers for many years.

Made in the USA

Veneers from Colorado Dental Arts are crafted in the USA by a trusted dental lab that only uses the highest quality materials. Our dentist uses IPS e.max to craft veneers. IPS e.max is a metal-free material that is widely preferred by dentists because of its lightness, thinness, and strength. Because it is thinner than conventional porcelain, IPS e.max also requires less alteration of the natural tooth structure.

The women at the front desk were extremely helpful and always willing to answer any questions... This was probably my best experience when it comes to the billing side of things so I can’t recommend this place enough!

See How Veneers Are Placed

Veneers attach to the surfaces of teeth, obscuring aesthetic imperfections. Placing veneers is relatively simple. First, our dentist will prepare each treated tooth by removing a thin layer of enamel. Two weeks later, he will adhere your permanent custom restorations to your teeth.

Treatment Timeline for Veneers

Veneers adhere to the front surfaces of your natural teeth to make your smile whiter, brighter, and more uniform.

Initial Examination

Dr. Krendl will examine your teeth to determine if you qualify for veneers. He will discuss any outstanding issues he finds so that you can make an educated decision before moving forward with your treatment plan.

Digital Scan

Once you are ready to begin treatment, Dr. Krendl will take digital scans of your teeth. These scans are used to create veneers that fit perfectly and blend in with your surrounding teeth.

Removing Enamel

Each tooth being treated will need to have a certain amount of enamel removed so that your new veneers will fit naturally in your smile. IPS e.max veneers are much thinner than traditional porcelain veneers, which means Dr. Krendl will only need to remove a small amount of enamel to properly prepare each tooth.

Temporary Veneers

It takes about two weeks for our lab to fabricate your veneers. Dr. Krendl will place temporary veneers on each prepared tooth while your custom veneers are being crafted. This will allow you to go about your daily routine without having to worry about damaging your prepared teeth.

Final Restoration

Before placing your dental veneers, our dentist will assess their fit, feel, and look. Then, using special dental cement, Dr. Krendl will secure your permanent veneers.

Veneers vs. Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that is often marketed as a comparable alternative to veneers. While our Littleton practice offers dental bonding, we often recommend veneers instead because they are a much better choice for patients who want to get the most out of their dental investment. Here is a breakdown of why:

Dental bonding, sometimes referred to as composite resin veneers, is a treatment that revolves around the application of a resin to the surface of teeth to change their appearance and shape. Bonding is typically more affordable than veneers but cannot achieve the same natural-looking appearance that veneers made of IPS e.max porcelain can. Furthermore, veneers offer longer-lasting results, providing many years' worth of cosmetic improvements.

We Offer Teeth Whitening That May Be Enough for Some Patients

/

If your cosmetic concerns can be addressed with a simpler procedure than veneers, our Littleton team will let you know. While our teeth whitening treatments cannot address cracks, chips, or other damage, they can erase years of stains to make any tooth up to eight shades whiter.

Remember, Veneers Are Irreversible

Because veneers require the shaving of tooth enamel before placement, they are considered an irreversible procedure. Once the enamel has been removed, your tooth will always require some sort of restoration. We encourage patients to explore more conservative options, like teeth whitening and clear aligners, before committing to veneers.

Once you have had your veneers placed, it is important to take care of them so you get the most out of your dental investment. Make sure that you brush twice per day, floss daily, and attend routine checkups with our Littleton team.
